This past June, Jefferson Group attended Neocon 2022 in Chicago, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Some of our favorite lines introduced new pieces of furniture that we have to share with our clients. Here at Jefferson Group, we are a local furniture dealer that looks for sustainable, adaptable, and flexible furniture to fit smoothly into any office space, whether hybrid arrangement or dedicated permanent. Many of our lines received awards for the Best of NeoCon, and we’d like to highlight a few.
Enworks “Ligouri Collection,“ received a silver award for Conference Room Furniture this year. The Ligouri Collection celebrates natural elements as it combines solid wood with precision-tooled aluminum components and detailing. Many models within the collection feature a levitating top, highlighting the sleek yet sturdy base. Designed to elevate any environment, Ligouri stands alone as a statement piece or as a welcoming touch to inspire human connection and collaboration. This table is height adjustable, and the entire collection represents modernity and a light, airy aesthetic.
AIS’s PET Wire Managers are a smaller piece of furniture but are so useful. This product won both a silver and an innovation award for Workplace Accessories at NeoCon. Uniquely incorporating wire management into privacy screens, PET Wire Managers and Enclosures keep cords tidy beneath the work surface on workstations and within private offices. PET Wire Managers and Enclosures are simple to use, allowing users to easily unhook and fold down for cord placement and adjustment access when needed. Users will appreciate its simple and soft aesthetic while valuing its robust cord capacity and acoustical sound absorption.
Davis Furniture has been one of our favorites for years, and we loved visiting their Neocon showroom. Their Sola Conference Chair won a silver award in Conference Seating this show. Sola has long been known for exemplifying a genuinely classic, minimalistic style used to enhance conference spaces and executive offices alike. As a result of technological and manufacturing advancements, this designer favorite was re-engineered entirely in 2021 with more comfort in mind, enhancing the seating experience of the Sola Chair through evolved features in the seat and back.
The Helio Table is minimalist in nature. Interior designers and architects were quickly attracted to Helio’s sleek details, which utilized round solid-steel tops and tubular steel legs while featuring no visible hardware. As a result of the great success of this series, Helio is now expanding to include a new rounded rectangular shape available in three complementary sizes and heights. These new configurations of Helio won a gold award for Tables: Occasional this year.
The Riza Table possesses a unique aesthetic and refined style that complements any space. Initially configured for lounges and meeting rooms, the Riza collection is now expanding to include counter-height and bar-height versions, vastly expanding the opportunities for this collection. In addition, Riza now offers unlimited flexibility with stunning visual details for an intriguing result. The Riza table won a Silver NeoCon Award for Tables: Café in 2022.
Bernhardt is one of our most prestigious lines, known for its comfort and long-lasting furniture. Their Ravel Lounge Line won a NeoCon Silver Award for Seating: Sofas & Lounge and is available in many different sizes and colors. Stylistically bridging the gap between home, hospitality, and corporate spaces, Ravel combines traditional wood craftsmanship with precise upholstery detailing. The result is a warm and inviting sofa and chair that appear fresh and modern yet comfortingly familiar. This sleek design is perfect for waiting areas and comfortable spaces in the office.
Alloro is a modular sofa system elevated by its distinctive and atypical appearance, bringing a fresh and original look to homes, hospitality spaces, and corporate workplaces. Alloro’s twelve modular pieces combine in varying lengths and shape configurations. The collection also features sofas, loveseats, and chaise lounges. The Alloro won a Silver Award for Seating: Modular at NeoCon this year.
In returning to the office, space and storage usage are significant demands. FROVI received a gold award in Storage for their BAMBOO Modular System for its warm and inviting design. The Bamboo collection works in any space to achieve a custom zoning solution. The flexible system comprises side-pressed solid bamboo shelves, cabinets, and lockers that assemble quickly and easily with tools supplied. In addition, this product is easy to clean because of the material and adds functionality and design to your space.
VIA Seating always has so many options for us to choose from, most of which are sustainable. For example, their Jeté executive conference chair has a sleek leather design which won the sustainability award in Seating: Conference. This chair comes in mid or high-back, and although the seat seems thin, its injection-molded foam makes it highly comfortable. In addition, Jeté offers a choice of a tilter or a dynamic knee-tilt mechanism. Also, select from multiple black & polished fixed arm choices and high-profile signature bases in black, grey, or new polished aluminum with black & grey open-design casters. Jeté is perfect for customizing across a variety of conference, private office & executive seating applications.
Halcon’s Helm Executive Desk, Meeting, and Conference Table, with its beautiful design and versatility, won Best of Competition and Gold Awards for Tables: Conference and Tables: Height-Adjustable this year. This meeting table is perfectly proportioned, appointed with luxurious materials, sleekly integrated with technology, and unexpectedly equipped with an adjustable-height surface. In addition, this table comes in many different finishes; whether you want wood or metal, all of the options are beautiful.
SilentLabs released their MicroOffice Realm at Neocon this year, winning a Gold Award. The MicroOffice Realm is the clear choice for combining true silence with active teamwork as it is a combination of their UNIQ and their QUADRIO product lines. This MicroOffice has fantastic ventilation, and the ceilings can even be glass. The glass ceiling provides an openness that is unexpected in a Pod yet still meets their renown level of quiet.
HushOffice’s HushHybrid Office Pod is a Silver Award winner this year. HushHybrid office pod is for hybrid work and remote meetings, connecting colleagues and business partners as if they were right next to you. Having a hushHybrid booth means employees no longer need to worry about whether phone calls and video conferences will disturb their coworkers – even if the booths are in the middle of an open space office. In addition, the pod has adjustable lighting and ventilation, and the booth can be ordered with additional stickers on the glass, providing privacy through a “frosted” look.
Nienkamper had four different pieces of furniture win awards at Neocon this year. The Vox LCS Workstation won Gold for Casegoods. This Private Office Workstation has a sleek design with various sizes and material/color options. In addition, Vox LCS combined workspace surfaces are height adjustable with a push of a button, with built-in personal storage and integrated power that is ideal for today’s private offices.
Then we have the Rowan Conference Table, which received a silver award. Rowan’s form is visually dynamic, exploring shape, balance, and materials by borrowing elements from nature. The collection’s simplicity, as seen in the wood’s open grain, is accentuated with a minimal natural finish. The conference table has flexible power built-in and wire management for a modern & professional look.
The Rowan Lounge received a sustainability award. It has a surprisingly small footprint but with a comfortable, spacious seat. Choose from a fixed base or a discrete circular metal base that rotates smoothly through 360°, allowing you to move effortlessly from one conversation to the next.
Neinkamper’s MagPower Table won a Silver Award for its highly configurable stature and flexibility. The new MagPower table is a versatile collection of mobile and stationary, multi-purpose tables ideally suited for focused individuals, small groups, or various training activities. This dynamic modular table system provides a functional, clutter-free work surface. The charging station is in the table leg, where wire management is cleverly integrated into the design to maintain a seamless aesthetic. In addition, it is ideal for work zones without wiring as the table features a battery-rechargeable wireless USB A + C power, with long battery life.
OFS won 3 awards this year for their Fleet, Kalied, and Zero collections. Fleet won the silver award and is an excellent line for collaboration and teamwork in the workplace. Overall, the shape of the top surface of the Fleet is deliberately designed as soft and rounded, eliminating hierarchy and encouraging engagement. Additionally, Fleet offers round, kidney, and pill-shaped tops. Depending on the requirement and function, there is a size and height for every purpose. One option even has an acoustic hood to make the area feel private.
The Kaleid is a larger mobile media unit that won a Gold Award this year. Kaleid was created as a mobile element of Soft Architecture to help define space and support the increased adaptation of activity-based work. As offices become more dynamic and energetic spaces, Kaleid stimulates connection, collaboration, and culture. Use the Kalied to define a meeting space or collaboration space in the office since it has different configurations and can move anywhere in the office.
Zero was awarded the Sustainability award this year. OFS uniquely designed this guest seating collection to consist of three parts – a seat, back, and frame – elegantly combined to come together with a single connection piece. Using as few elements as possible, recycling or reusing Zero is simple, benefiting the customer and the environment. Additionally, Zero has a selection of 18 different powder coat colors.
Senator Group’s Adapt Wall was a hit at Neocon this year and won a Gold Award. This mobile wall can separate any space giving employees more privacy while also including storage. These can also be perfect for lounge areas in the office to separate work time with time to unwind and chat with coworkers. Its lightweight form enables ease of movement yet is highly stable, ensuring Adapt Wall can confidently transform any space on demand. In addition, the Adapt Wall brings dimension to any room since you can select several different configurations.
The Boss Design Amelia, named after Amelia Earhart, received a Gold Award for its privacy and comfort. The Amelia is a light and modern take on the classic wing-back lounge chair that softens the lines between office, hospitality, and home settings. They have two upholstery options: the Lounge with its sculptural form and the Plush with an extra layer of luxury and softness. The flexibility of the design continues to its base, available with a steel four-leg option, sled frame, aluminum four-star base, and timber four-star base. The timber four-star base includes a memory return on the swivel.
Neocon is our favorite event of the year, and we were highly impressed with all of our vendors. This year, many modern pieces of furniture were on display, making known the direction companies are going when redoing their offices. The spaces are light and airy, helping to encourage employees to want to return to the office and collaborate. We know all the winners and other pieces of furniture from our vendors will be fan favorites with our clients. We can hardly wait for next year!
