Office Needs in the Hybrid Era
With the rise of hybrid working, many businesses split time between the office and home. Learn what the office needs under this arrangement.
Conference room furniture and design should be comfortable for your employees and professional for your clients at the same time. The design and furniture can set the tone of any room and make all the difference. The following are a few tips on how to create a balanced environment with design, furniture, and amenities.
Your conference room furniture and design must be consistent with the rest of your office. Keeping overall colors and themes consistent will ensure your overall office design flows and doesn’t clash. For example, you could use color variations of the same palette, eg. different shades of a similar blue to add interest while maintaining continuity. Whatever colors you choose, make sure they are on the same color spectrum and don’t clash.
Make sure you have everything ready for client visits. This could include wires, projectors, and other presentation support as well as water, snacks, pens, and notepads. Preparing ahead of time means you can make the most of your meeting time rather than running around looking for supplies. Keeping a well-stocked conference room means you’re always prepared.
What can you do to make employees and clients more comfortable? Meetings can often drag out for a long time, sometimes hours. Make sure you8r conference room furniture and chairs provide good back support and arm comfort. Do the desks/tables provide enough elbow room to comfortably move around? Providing ample space for everyone and their personal belongings goes a long way to help people feel at ease.
Natural light in a conference room is critical. It makes a room much brighter and less oppressive. A room without windows can make you feel claustrophobic and lose track of time. Natural lighting helps keep people awake. If you are unable to get a conference room with natural lighting, be sure to get soft lighting that eases the mind, rather than something harsh and glaring.
When choosing what furniture to buy, keep your market/industry in mind. For example, if you are an accounting business, you will want furniture that is formal and professional. Professional colors tend to be neutral or more muted, informal colors would be bright and unconventional. If you are a marketing or design business, you can move away from conventionally formal furniture and choose something more fun and creative.
Naming a conference room can be a fun activity that involves the whole team. You could create an employee poll to see what the winning name should be! It can be a fun and collaborative activity. What theme do you want the conference room names to have? It could be named after items or materials in your industry (for example, gold and copper for mining) or names of places or people. Is your office quirky and laid back or serious and formal? This tone should be reflected in your decision.
Using these tips as a guide, you’ll have a conference room your staff and clients will love! If you have other successful tips you have utilized, we’d love to hear from you.
